How To Pack

Pikes Peak provides full packing and unpacking services for your move. However, if you choose to do your packing, we have provided packing resources that feature ways to save time and money on moving.

A room-by-room approach is the most organized way to begin your packing. Start with the least used items in areas like the garage, attic and basement. Then move to rooms that have items not frequently used–guest room, living room, and family room. The last area to be packed should usually be the kitchen.

Once you have your materials ready, it's time to begin packing! While items like blankets, towels and sheets need no protective wrapping, most household items do. Be sure to use 3-4 inches of crumpled packing paper on the bottom and top of each carton.

Help those in need
Donate your food to a local food bank when you move.
Pikes Peak is a partner with Move for Hunger — a nonprofit organization that enlists those who are relocating to donate unopened food that they will not be taking to their new destination.
